This post is a Career Development Fellowship to support post-doctoral scientists in early or changed career training and help establish them as a successful research scientist in their chosen field. It is initially a 3-year training and development post, which incorporates both scientific and transferable skills training.

The post-holder will join the Rueda lab, currently using Single Molecule Microscopy to investigate key mechanistic aspects in RNA folding and splicing, and DNA replication and deamination. The successful candidate will use state-of-the-art experimental biophysical tools to accomplish single molecule fluorescence, magnetic/optical tweezers, live cell imaging and superresolution microscopy. The candidate will develop and apply these experimental techniques to essential biological processes.

You should be highly motivated individuals with an open and organized mind, capable of both thinking outside the box and detail oriented. You should have a relevant PhD (or near completion stage), and at least some of the following attributes: training in biophysics, biochemistry, cell biology and/or yeast genetics, a strong publication record, creativity, excellent oral presentation and written skills and work well with others.
